Nuts and Bolts Items:
-Staff Spirit Store: If you’d like to get staff prices on another school shirt or fun Friday shirts, be sure to get your order in by Wednesday at midnight!
-Classroom teachers-Please be sure to have these items for your students:
Lunch PIN - Students will want to come to lunch with their PIN number. It will be the same as last year. If you need help running this from Infinite Campus, please let us know in the office.
Dismissal plans - You will want to know how your students will get home day one and then normally. If there are any questions re: bus number, etc., please let the office know ASAP so that we may help clarify before the end of the day. You may email Amanda and Rhonda both.
-6th Specials: Class lists will be given out Monday for 6th specials. Thank you for your patience!
-If you haven’t completed the Staff Survey, please do so asap!
-Lunch Count procedures:
Student - All will be entered in Infinite Campus when you do attendance. Choice 1, 2, 3 and then Choice 4 goes in the “Sub” section.
Adults - ALL adult lunch counts will be done on this Adult Lunch Count doc if you would like a lunch or salad each day. It is also on the Dashboard under “Daily/Weekly”.
-Lunch seating sections: 5th grade and 6th grade. Please assist your students the first couple of days with seating as we get it all figured out. At this time, breakfast will be open seating in the designated area filling up seats closest to the kitchen first. If needed, we will create a breakfast map of team sections.
-Arrival/dismissal - Especially the first couple of days, we would like all hands-on deck to welcome our students and also help with dismissal procedures at the end of the day. Non-classroom teachers-we’ll want people out front, buses, assisting with finding classrooms and breakfast. Let’s pump them up!
-Recess: Here are the zones and expectations our specials teachers will be sharing Monday morning with students. Both documents can also be found on the dashboard. Also, here is the weather protocols for going outside. The weather looks to be warm, but fine to be outside. Yay! Please still encourage students to bring a water bottle each day.
-Student Allergies - As a reminder, we have several student allergies in our building. Please use caution and be aware for your classes. We should refrain from using essential oils, air fresheners, Febreeze, Axe, etc. as these can be triggers for some people, especially asthmatics.
-Bathroom sign out sheets - You are welcome to use this template if needed, especially until all students have their agenda. This would be used if a student has an emergency need to use the restroom outside of class breaks, but should be limited.
-Safe School videos - You should be completed with at least the first round of videos. Go ahead and get them knocked out so you don’t keep getting reminders!
-Clubs: If you have a club starting soon, please get the club proposal form to Stacey in order to be approved and added to the school calendar.
Teaching Tidbits:
The tone of the day is set upon arrival in your classroom, so it's important to think about how you prepare this time. Check out this post from Bored Teachers for some great ideas: How to Engage Your Students the Moment They Arrive in Class.
