Mon. Library/Counseling Week: B week

Nuts and Bolt Items:

  • Attendance – This is getting better! Thanks for your attention to accuracy and timeliness. Don’t hesitate to reach out to Rhonda if you have any questions.

  • Club Proposals – If you would like to sponsor a club, please complete and return this approval form to Stacey in order to get it added to the calendar. We'll be getting these out for students this week.

  • NWEA class set-up - Shawnda will be getting with teams during their scheduled team meeting time this week to set up their NWEA classes.

  • Safe School training videos – Have you completed these? If not, don’t let the deadline sneak up on you! The first two are due mid-September and this is a lighter week as far as before/after school activities, so it'd be a great time to get them done.

  • Please be sure you are only arrive/departing from the main or bus entrances. Also, please double check that the doors close behind you as we are having some trouble with this and must stay secure. If anyone is having issues with their key fab, please let me know!

  • After only 7 days of school, our building has taken a beating. I know it is difficult to monitor, but please, please stay on top of students with this to ensure procedures are in place to take care of things. Dry wall is new for us, but we're noticing many scratches and footprints on the walls already. Also, mud being tracked in and we even had some of the caulking between the glass come out due to students leaning on it last week. The custodians are working diligently to stay on top of it, but we can use everyone's help!

  • The laminator should be here THIS week!!! YAY!!

  • Staff favorites - Here's a list of what your teammates like. It's also been added to the resources page so you can find it when you need it!

Leader in Me Moment:

Ask Muriel, Morning Meetings: As we continue to build our classroom/team culture, here's another great way to start the day with class/team meetings. Hear from the principal of the first Leader in Me school, Muriel Summers at A.B. Combs Elementary, to see how these meetings can transform your class and team. Don't over look the other great resources at the bottom of the article too!

Teacher Tidbits:

What do you have planned this week to continue to connect and build relationships with your students? Who are the ones that may need some extra time with you or patience? I challenge you to pick a student a day this week to invest into - maybe it's eating lunch together, a positive call home, or a conversation about what THEY want to talk about! This time will pay in huge dividends.
