Mon. Library/Counseling Week: B week

Morning Announcements: Please add things you would like to have added to our morning announcements on the appropriate day.

Nuts and Bolts Items:

-It seems the stomach bug hit our building at the end of last week. :( If you’ve got a student not feeling well, please be proactive to send them to the nurse and/or allow them to have the trash can nearby with them. Our custodians had MANY clean-ups and would appreciate your help.

-Reminder to look at Classroom 180: Domain 1 videos for our trauma-informed learning. We will meet in small groups next Monday to discuss these. The videos for this domain include:

  • Thorough explanation from Heather Forbes

  • Watch a classroom teacher in action: Mr. Hite

  • Rita Pierson: Every Child Needs a Champion (Ted Talk)

  • Family Culture and Relationships: Chicago PS video

-6th band - Mr. Carter will be around this afternoon (Monday) to pull students individually that put percussion as their 1st choice for quick testing. We will try to do this during Move-It Mon. Then, we will have a quick time on Wed. (maybe Thurs.) that the band directors will announce to students their instrument selection. It is my hope this will be during your intervention time and will communicate with you as soon as I get confirmation.

-Hot dog food truck - Please let us know here asap if you plan to participate so we can get an approximate count to help. The date has changed to NEXT MON., DEC. 20.

-Recent board approved health protocol highlights from Dec. 9 staff communicator:

  • Positive COVID cases will be excluded for 10 days (per normal isolation protocol)

    • The term quarantine is not being utilized any longer. The term excluded, meaning students are not allowed to come to school, is the new term.

  • Exclusion is now optional for exposed students at school, but encouraged for in-home exposures.

  • Should exposed students choose to self-exclude, we will follow our current virtual plan as we have been and attendance will not count against them.

  • No changes have been made if a student or staff member has been vaccinated. You are welcome to have your vaccination card on file with nurse Danielle.

  • The 8% threshold for masking is no longer in place.

  • Updated seating charts continue to be important, so please be sure your digital seating charts are up-to-date for quick access.

-IE & DGH hours: Please make sure your DGH hours are added in Talent Ed and all IE hours are up-to-date for payment. First semester hours are due Dec. 22 for payment.

-Mike Roberts will be out all this week and we will have others filling in for him during the daytime.

-Advent calendar fun for staff and students:

-Celebration walk will be from 10:00-11:00 am this Friday. In addition to the many awesome items displayed around the building, we will keep you posted if there are other items we have them focus on during their time here. Please let Stacey know if you have something scheduled during this time they could see!
