WIS News:

Morning Announcements: Please add things you would like to have added to our morning announcements on the appropriate day.

Nuts and Bolts Items:

-Bittersweet news from the office: Emily Gifford has accepted another position in her degree field. Unfortunately, this means she will be leaving us at semester. It’s been a joy to have her here with us this semester. Please be sure to send her best wishes on her next adventure!

-Tacky Mask contest - Create your tackiest mask and wear on Friday along with your Tacky Sweater. We'll be around to take pictures and students get to vote on our winner for a prize! (*We've got extras of the white masks in the office if you'd like one to decorate!)

-Team meetings - Shawnda will be checking in to see how she can support you; however, Stacey does not plan on attending team meetings this week unless you would like her to be there.

-Instructional Excellence: Please have your IE logs updated with hours completed. These hours will include BOTH tutoring and after school homebound support hours. Reminder you must list the names of students you worked with during this time on your log. Any staff member that has provided after school homebound support hours can receive payment. If you did not complete a proposal but have done hours, please connect with Stacey to complete a proposal.

-DGH hours - If you would like to have your district growth hours paid out in January, please make sure these are complete in Talent Ed by Friday also. Remember, all staff who were at our Aug. 4 Leader in Me building training has completed the 6 hours required.

-Class holiday parties - As we have in the past, you are welcome to schedule some holiday fun with your class on our Tues. early out. for a portion of the morning. If you plan to have treats, remember to keep it in the classrooms to avoid our carpet. Please encourage your students to be in attendance next week by including activities they want & need to be here for! We’ll have our carolers and other fun things too!

-Don’t forget to add ornaments to our Happy Tree in the commons to share all the good moments happening! Also, the self-care opportunities provided by our Adult learning action team continue throughout the month. In addition to the ones listed below, Christy Tree is offering prayer time after school each day.

-Celebrating Cultures December reading theme collection

Adult Learning Weekly Blog Spot:

One more week of discipline resources, then I will close out my "series" and move on to the next trouble! This week, I have a link to a website that is full of valuable resources and videos for one method of changing behavior. The page that I'm linking is an overview of the Plan B method that links to several videos to model how each step works. I particularly like Step 1: Change your Lenses. If what typically has worked in the past isn't working now, you probably need to approach the problem differently. This resource will give you ideas on how to do that.

With your Accountability Partner this week, let's review the 7 Habits Paradigm shifts and talk about which ones you are having the most difficulty with right now. Maybe your partner has some tips or ideas to help you change your lenses!
