Nuts and Bolts Items:
-Supervision: Friendly reminder to make sure we are monitoring students closely. If you need to step out of the classroom, please be sure to have someone cover for you. Spread out at recess. Monitor bathroom/halls closely. Non-classroom teachers can help monitor halls and commons during arrival/dismissal. We’ve got great visibility with our openness, but students are really starting to figure out times that supervision is weaker. Thanks for your help!
-Staff Feedback Survey – Please be sure to give our professional learning action team your feedback here.
-Nurse passes – Reminder to always send students with a pass when they go to the nurse.
-Staff T-Shirt: Last chance today to let me know if you’d like a staff t-shirt ordered for you.
-Reminder that Shawnda will be out of the district for a conference Mon-Wed this week.
-Christmas Giving for WIS-South students – We’d like to have all items by this Friday if you would like to donate item or money towards.
Leader in Me Moment:
This week for Leader in Me, we would like you to focus on Habit 6: Synergize. The Highly Effective Paradigm is that together we can come up with something that is better than what either of us could come up with independently.
In order to live the Highly Effective Paradigm of Habit 6, you must value differences (not just accept them), and be willing to seek a 3rd Alternative.
Do you ever get ‘stuck’ when trying to synergize? Here are some questions/tips to help you achieve the 3rd Alternative:
Valuing differences is what really drives synergy. Do you truly value the mental, emotional, and psychological differences among people? Or do you wish everyone would just agree with you so you could all get along? This week think about your own paradigm. Are you living the Highly Effective Paradigm? If not, what’s holding you back?
