Mon. Library/Counseling Week: B Week

Specials Session: 3 (Due to snow days we will continue this week with Session 3 so students are able to finish ongoing projects. The session schedule has also been updated for the remainder of the year.)

STEM class location: Innovation Lab

Morning Announcements: Please add things you would like to have added to our morning announcements on the appropriate day.

Nuts and Bolts Items:

-National Children’s Dental Month - Each homeroom class needs to show the appropriate grade level video below sometime this week. Please add your viewing date to this document and Nurse Danielle will make sure your class has their ‘goodie bag’ of educational material to send home that day. Each video is less than 5 minutes long.

-Team meetings this week regarding updates with our reading goal progress. This document will be discussed, along with your data folder, to develop a strong plan of action.

-AMI attendance - Please make sure students are making up work and document on our attendance sheet by end of day on Thursday. Official attendance will be taken on Friday morning. Remember, partial work and/or instruction during support time will count for each day's attendance.

-NWEA testing - The window is currently scheduled to open next week. More information will be coming soon if this changes due to snow days.

-Read Across America Week - Plans are underway to celebrate, but there's a chance we'll push it back a week to Mar. 8. More information coming! Donations of gently used books or monetary are still being accepted as we attempt to get a new book in EVERY student's hand this week.

-We missed National Mint Day on Friday, but can still celebrate with a treat in your mailbox. :)

Adult Learning Weekly Blog Spot from Ms. Maddeaux:

WOW! Team Snow Day won the Super Bowl this year! Nearly two full weeks of unexpected relaxation! I hope everyone was able to recharge their batteries and rediscover a bit of themselves over our extra long weekend. This week, I want to bring you a couple of resources to help extend that relaxation into our return to "normal". I am a consummate doer. If I see an open hour on my calendar, I typically have it filled by the end of the day. When I get to school in the morning, I tend to hit the ground running, and the day is over before I even know it. Part of the reason I can do that, though, (somewhat successfully) is that I know what activities fill my bucket, and how to sneak some of that into my crazy busy schedule. I can definitely feel it when I am skipping my self-care breaks! This first article details the benefits of building in some downtime throughout your busy day. The second talks about how that also benefits our students. Please take a few minutes to look them over, then think about what type of breaks you could add into your busy day.

For accountability partner time, we will play a game in the Tiger Den getting to know how our teammates spent their snowpocalypse break!
