Mon. Library/Counseling Week: B week

Morning Announcements: Please add things you would like to have added to our morning announcements on the appropriate day.

WIS shared picture folder: Please add your school pictures throughout the year. We’d love to have lots to choose from for the yearbook!

Nuts and Bolts Items:

-How are you feeling? We only heard from a few people and would really appreciate the anonymous feedback if you had a second to answer.

-Water Challenge through Jan. 31st: Don’t forget to update your water intake. PE patrol students will be around on T/Th to count ounces.

-Primary School Picture: Stacey is requesting a picture of you as a young student. This may be a copy and/or we will get the original back to you! Please turn in to Stacey or the main office. We don’t need this for a bit, but want you to start looking for one!

-Weather: With potential winter weather in the forecast this week, it is my understanding our first few days will be a regular “SNOW DAY”. However, it’s a good reminder to make sure your team/content has plans ready to go for an AMI day and/or need to send computers home with students.

-Classroom teachers: Stacey will be sending information to you this week to get our Jan. 1-1 check-ins scheduled.

-MSU practicum students will begin this week and here all week. Then, they will come either on Tues. or Thurs. for the remainder of the semester. The students will also be staying after school from 4-5:30 pm T/Th for class in Mr. Allie’s classroom.

-Yearbook cover design: Students have until Feb. 15 to submit a design to Mrs. Vest or the office. See full details here. They are on sale through Mar. 3.

-Reminder: Secret Pal gifts are this week if you are participating!

-House of Leaders:

  • Class Rewards: Lighthouse students have the spinning wheel ready to go and it is displayed by the drawing boxes in office. Feel free to bring your class down at a convenient time. You can have someone come in to spin while the others watch outside the window. Let Stacey know what their reward is and when you plan to do it. We’re aware several of you have a few rewards to do already!

  • Individual Drawings: Students were excited on Friday as we held our first drawing! We will plan to draw more this Friday. All names should be entered by 10:00 am Thursday for our next drawing. Please make sure students add first/last name and homeroom on drawing slip. Some clarification:

    • VIP Seating - This happens one time on Friday. What we do, looks like, etc. could change week to week.

    • Special Treat - This could also change week-to-week and will not always be the same thing. The first couple of weeks they will receive a small bag of candy at the end of day to take home.

    • Lunch Fast Pass - These will be good for one WEEK. The tickets say month as we’d planned for a monthly drawing, but hope to do them more frequently since we’re handing out so many coins.

  • Tickets: Students who received a ticket on Friday should’ve turned them in when they got their reward. (Exception: Fast Pass hangs onto it through Thursday.) We plan to reuse these, so please help us make sure all are turned in to the office by Thursday afternoon.

  • Please create a system in class for when you will check coins, give out drawing slips and let students put them in boxes so that it doesn’t frequently impact class time (ie. Wed. lead or iTime). As you give students the paper to put in drawing, use a Sharpie to mark off the 5 coins on their grid.

  • Let’s keep the momentum going with passing out coins when you see students going above and beyond. Also, awarding a CLASS COIN if they’ve all got it going on. ;)
