Nuts and Bolts Items:
-A BIG thank you to each one of you for making last week’s AMI days such a success. It was great to see such strong attendance by our students. The efforts you made to continue instruction and keep students engaged in learning was truly inspiring. I couldn’t be more proud to work with our amazing team!
-The district is watching our attendance for both staff and students closely. Please continue to let me know right away if you begin to develop symptoms or need to be out. Also, forward any parent communication re: absences to Danielle or I and encourage them to call the office.
-Substitutes - While we were in pretty good shape last week compared to others in the district, we are seeing a few more staff out currently with sickness. As of 5:30 pm on Sunday we are short 4 subs for Monday, this could result in the possibility we won’t be able to have counseling/library tomorrow as we shift people to cover. We’ll try our best to avoid this and will communicate in the morning if we must make any building-wide changes for coverage. Although things can change quickly, district-wide things were quite a bit better Sun. afternoon and the plan was to continue with seated classes this week.
-We’ll want to continue to be diligent with our COVID protocols such as seating charts, taking Chromebooks home daily, etc.
-Trauma-informed learning: Next week we’ll be discussing Domain 2: Regulation in our learning groups for the early out staff meeting. You will want to log in to the EI site and watch the Unit 1 videos before then.
-Student Leadership teams on Thursday - We will plan to do this as normal, but please have your groups sit in areas by class/team as possible. Students should be ready to go in the morning and attendance done BEFORE you transition. All should go directly to their leadership team after the announcements and pledge are complete.
-6th band club will begin this week. Please remind students to bring their instruments on Wednesday, Friday and music days. They will be getting an assigned locker in the band closet to keep their instruments.
-Team meetings this week: Student check-in—Celebrations, reflection on progress and focus goals for 2nd semester (reading data folders, NWEA, supports, etc.). *We will try our best to stick to our normal schedule for meetings, but please be aware there may be changes depending on the need for coverage.
