Adult Learning Weekly Blog Spot:

I haven't been getting a lot of trash to talk about, but in the whole two weeks that I had a student teacher (not my fault, I SWEAR!) I did get more of an opportunity to talk to people than I've had all year. It was GREAT! I miss PEOPLE! (and I'm really more of an introvert) One of the things that I've heard, often, is how hard it is that we never get to really see each other. The isolation is another layer of hard in all this crazy. We've had a few attempts at trying to put some get-togethers out there, but, honestly, I think everyone second guesses their socialization right now.

So how do we connect? Teacher tribes are imperative, and here's an article that gives some reasons why, but we all probably know why... we can feel it in its absence this year. We need reminders that we really like the people we spend our time with! Today, with our Accountability Partner time, let's play a game! Keep socially distanced, but try to get to the commons (aka Tiger Den) on time, so we can play a quick game together before our presentation. My dad had a saying, "The family that plays together, stays together". Let's enjoy a quick little family game night with our tribe! (PS.. I’m going to need LOTS of dice for this... if you have some we can borrow, let me know!)

Teaching Takeaway:

Did you know that Inauguration Day, 1/20/21, started a 10 day stretch where the date is a palindrome? This is a great fun fact to share with students! Here's a couple articles to share more: Farmer's Almanac, USAToday
