Nuts and Bolts Items:
-Mid-Year Check-in - Please complete this quick pulse check-in. Names are not being collected, so please include your name if you have a specific need or question you’d like a reply to.
-Grade reports should be complete by Jan. 5 at 10:00 am. However, please let Stacey know if your team is finished before then so that we can begin printing. Please refer to the Grade Card Reporting Guide for helpful information and expectations as you complete them.
-6th band - We hope to begin next week on Jan. 11. Students will attend band instead of music on their music specials day. Then, the after school club will be on Wednesday and Fridays. More information to come including class rosters and location so that everyone can be prepared.
-Our building SIT team will begin meeting on Thursday mornings this semester and want to be a support. If your team has any specific needs for students currently on SIT or new, please connect with Becca.
-Seating charts - As you make changes to start the semester, don't forget to double check you have the most up-to-date seating charts for all classes in the seating chart folder on the dashboard.
-Loretha Cain, para in Mrs. Bauer’s room, left at semester. We have posted the position and hope to have some additional assistance in her classroom soon.
-Team meetings - We will not plan to attend team meetings this week as it’s a short week and we’re all getting back into the groove of things. Please let Shawnda or I know if you need us though! We’re happy to attend.
Teaching Tidbit:
Check out this informative article by Doug Fisher and Nancy Frey, "Why Do Students Disengage?" They give some great strategies to tackle some of those barriers impacting a student's learning including the figure below. It also includes a short video of a teacher demonstrating how to conference with a student about their own agency when reaching their goals.
