Weekly News:

Morning Announcements: Please add things you would like to have added to our morning announcements on the appropriate day.

Nuts and Bolts Items:

-NWEA testing begins this week. Best of luck to our students. May they smash their goals! ;)

-Staff Check-In - It’s been awhile since we checked in, please let me know how you are doing!

-Spring Intro Reading Week - We’ve pushed back Read Across America until next week. We’ll have spirit days and some activities we may ask for your help with! Mr. Stockton will be sharing briefly during our early out meeting on Monday.

-Stacey will be out on Monday and Tuesday attending the principals’ conference. Mrs. Herron will be assisting in the office on Monday and Mrs. Johnson on Tuesday. Luciana Brown will also be ‘on call’ if needed. Please call the office if you need assistance. Stacey is available by phone or email also!

-Spring conferences are right around the corner! We are currently working on more specific details and should have these to you in the next day or two. However, what you do need to know is the window is Mar. 25-April 1. As we have not been able to all year, we are planning to safely give parents the opportunity to come IN for conferences. Tuesday evening, Mar. 30 we will be offering dinner for you and dedicated time for the student-led portion of conferences if your team wants to plan on that evening. Priority will be given in the order of student-led, parent conferences, and Google Meet for those not comfortable with coming in. More details coming soon!

-Team meetings - Shawnda or I will be available if your team has questions or items you'd like to visit with us about. Otherwise, we want to give your team time to prepare for the many upcoming things.

-Have you changed your "What I'm Reading" sign in awhile? Students are looking at these!

-Congratulations to Mrs. Jessen's class for earning the class reward for the "Books to Love" competition by turning in over 350 hearts! WOW! Way to begin with the end in mind, and put a plan to action.

-Summatives - It is crazy to think it is already that time of year! It truly does feel like we were just doing this virtually while out this spring. Look for more information by email soon as I will begin scheduling these starting with those new to our building first.

Adult Learning Weekly Blog Spot from Mrs. Maddeaux:

I don't know about you, but I totally crashed into my bed on Friday night after what felt like the longest week ever! I've talked to teachers all over, and they all seem to feel the same. Last week was never ending. I'm not going to go all "toxic positivity" and self care on you this week. Some weeks are just hard, and there is no shame in admitting that! I will share that what gets me through those really hard weeks is to remember to look at my circle of control. I remember being very young the first time I saw a little desk sign with the Serenity Prayer on it. Even at a young age, it brought me peace. No links, no articles, no videos this week, I'm just going to leave you with this: "God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the Courage to change the things I can, and the Wisdom to know the difference."

With your accountability partner this week, just talk. Visit with your friend and check in on how they are holding up. Find out what is going on new in their lives and what is helping get them through! I think we can all benefit from some breathing space this week!
