Adult Learning Weekly Blog Spot from Mrs. Maddeaux:
Well! That revelation from Headquarters about Stacey Pippin actually being Pat Cooper, mind control specialist, really got me thinking! How well do we actually know our fearless leader? I took the day off on Friday to do some investigative journalism to figure out who this person is outside of our school walls. The information was shocking!
I was able to track down Maven Hemmingway, who claims she knew Pat Cooper in middle school. Maven described Pat as “unflappable”. She says they got to know each other really well on the State Competitive Duck Herding circuit. Maven was quick to point out that she took first place in the State Finals, while Pat/Stacey only came in third. She provided a picture from the finals. According to some of her old high school yearbooks, Pat/Stacey was also the founding president of the Good Samaritan Brigade in high school. The pictures looked like a bunch of nerdy science types. I’m thinking this is where the idea for the mind control device began.
In college, apparently Pat/Stacey decided to leave that Good Samaritan image behind. She started hanging out with some less than solid Hollywood types, who got her hooked on Karaoke. I asked around and, apparently, Stacey is well known in the karaoke bars. All the bartenders know her go to order is a triple shot Captain and Coke, with a margarita chaser. She’s been spotted with Charlie Sheen, Lindsay Lohan, Mel Gibson and Miley Cyrus. Apparently her bestie, though, is Brittany Spears. Stacey’s go to Karaoke song is Crazy, by her girl Brittany, and all the regulars know who’s up next when they hear the opening melody. I was able to dig up some flight records and it looks like Stacey has made quite a few trips out of Vegas during Brittany’s residency. Unfortunately, what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas, so I don’t have many details on what they get up to while she’s there. I can only imagine!
Following a lead from one of the bartenders, who would only speak on the condition of anonymity, I visited Ma’s Tattoo Parlor. A little hole in the wall place just off Kearney on the north side. Ma herself was proud to tell me that she sees Stacey nearly every Sunday to work on the gorgeous skull and snake design that covers her entire back. Ma said that Stacey often talks about her vacation daydreams while she’s in the chair. Apparently, once she offloads this mind control device, she is heading to a spa in Fiji, where she plans to get daily massages, read some new books, sleep in, and avoid all electronic communication.
When you are investigating someone savvy enough to change their entire image from Pat to Stacey that is known to have developed mind control technology, it is difficult to separate fact from fiction, but, as you can tell from my digging, there is a lot we don’t know about the real Stacey Pippin! Maybe it is time we demand some answers!
I’ve taken a big chance leaking all of this information. If Team Japan doesn’t win the contest on Monday, just know that it was worth the retaliation just to make sure you all know who you’re dealing with!
Teaching Year-End Tip:
As we wrap-up MAP testing, this can be a great time to celebrate the year with our students. We will definitely have opportunities to do this, but it’s also important not to start closing up our classroom too early and to be purposeful as we continue learning with engaging lessons. This blog post by Angela Watson has some great points for deconstructing your classroom quickly at the end of the year. We all have many things on our end-of-year to-do list. This article gives some great ways to manage this, avoid student anxiousness/behaviors and still get accomplished all that is needed!
