Morning Announcements: Please add things you would like to have added to our morning announcements on the appropriate day.

Nuts and Bolts Items:

-Team meetings: We would like to do ALL team meetings on Wed. this week due to conflicts such as field day, etc. We will look at your final team reading goal results and answer any end-of-year questions you may have.

-Celebration Day: There is a chance we may do a portion of the celebration (ie. community time) in the gym. Detailed schedule will be updated here and communicated to all by Thursday if so. All teams should have let Mrs. Walker know the name of 2 students to lead during this time. Also, shared your team's leadership spotlight and celebration with her.

-Field Day Schedule: We will need all hands on deck, especially if the weather cooperates to be outside. Please check-in with Coach Bowling to see where help is needed throughout the day when you are able to help. The weather forecast shows a likely chance of rain, so there is a possibility we will be inside only. Let's hope not!

-Teacher Check-out: You may sign up for a time here to check-out. All must be completed by June 2.

-Building Needs/Wish List: Please continue to add to our wish list if you have suggestions for our building.

-Masking is no longer necessary when outside. In case you did not read last Friday's email re: updated safety protocols from Bobbi Sweeten, they will also be optional as of May 28.

-Supervision: Thank you to each of you for the extra steps taken last week to 'tighten the reins'. Your efforts to limit the number out and about, along with closer supervision, really made a BIG difference! Students really rose to expectations and clear boundaries. Please continue to limit the bathroom breaks, but you may use the learning parks with limits and supervision.

Adult Learning Weekly Blog Spot from Mrs. Maddeaux:

We made it! We have survived what has to have been the longest school year ever! Masks...distance.. remote teaching... none of the crazy that came with Covid shut us down. And now we rest, and it is a well-deserved break.

One of the primary goals of the Adult Learning Action Team this year has been to create opportunities to get to know each other. Many of our surveys echo the same sentiment. We want to spend time together and really get to know the people we work with. Not just content, not just classroom management, not just team politics-- we want to enjoy the time we spend with each other and get to know one another on a more personal level. I think one thing that came out of the Covid mess is the appreciation for being a part of a team. We realized how much we need people, and how important our social circles are. We are working on ways to provide more opportunities next year.

So maybe while you're sipping that margarita by the pool you could also be thinking of ways to keep in touch with your people! Try to think of some ways to connect that don't involve lesson planning or team meetings. Make some plans to meet for lunch, or hang out at Silver Dollar City or something somewhere. Definitely unplug, but remember to stay connected! Have a fabulous summer!
