Mon. Library/Counseling Week: A Week

Morning Announcements: Please add things you would like to have added to our morning announcements on the appropriate day.

Nuts and Bolts Items:

-Insurance Open Enrollment must be completed by May 7: See email from Shelly Vaughn for information and any questions you may have.

-Team meetings: Specials team will meet this week with Stacey. Due to MAP testing, Shawnda or Stacey will not plan to attend the classroom team meetings unless you need us for anything!

-Any staff available during the morning time are encouraged to help us greet students during arrival on MAP testing days. We’d love to have some motivational signs of encouragement and will be playing music.

-Teacher Appreciation Week: We hope you all feel the much deserved love this week and enjoy all the fun planned! Be sure to check the linked calendar for all the festivities. We’ll learn a little more about the Teacher Contest at Monday’s meeting after school.

-MAP testing on Tues. and Thurs. this week: Thanks to Mrs. Tutton for creating this All Things MAP document with information and place for your last minute questions. Don’t forget to remove or cover content items in your classroom.

-End of year DRA testing window begins this week (May 3-18).

-Next Year Placement: Please discuss as a team and send Stacey any information that may be helpful re: student placement, need for separations, etc.

-Fire Drill: While we had a pull station accidentally hit on Friday, we will count that as our fire drill. Thanks for quickly exiting with your class. Please let Stacey know any feedback for improvement or questions you may have if you haven't already.

-Book Fair: The book fair begins next week from 8:20 am-4:00 pm each day. Please limit AM shopping to those only with money because a limit of 15 students at a time will be allowed.

-Be sure to check out the Teacher Appreciation video our students created for you:

Adult Learning Weekly Blog Spot from Mrs. Maddeaux:

We've made it to May! And we've made such big progress! Shout out to our media leaders for their fabulous video! I know I've watched it over and over. I love seeing what the kids notice and appreciate. As we head into the week of love and celebration (and MAP testing), I thought I'd share an article about the History of Teacher Appreciation Week. I don't know about you, but these weeks seem to be getting longer and longer. I am more and more exhausted at the end of the day. Last week, I decided to write up all that I did that day.... two FULL pages, typed! We've earned our exhaustion, and the break that's coming! Enjoy the week of treats, and these last few days with our students.

For Accountability Partner time, Samantha Muller has a Pat on the Back activity that we will do. Sounds like the perfect way to kick off a week of appreciation! Thank you all for what you do!
