Nuts and Bolts Items:

-Student Leadership teams: This is our last week for teams to meet. Please finalize your display for Parent Transition Night if your team plans to continue next year.

-Clubs: Please let Stacey know if you plan to cancel any club dates for the remainder of the year so that communication and calendar can be updated.

-Food Allergy Awareness Week is next week. See the “Week Ahead” below for plans of activities we’ll be participating in each day to spread the importance of being food allergy aware.

-Spring DRA Testing begins this week. More information will be shared during ELA content meetings. All final DRA scores are due May 19.

-4th quarter grades date due will be extended to Monday, May 22 by 10:00 am.

-Parent Transition Night is May 16 from 5:45-6:45 pm. This is a great opportunity to welcome our new 5th graders and a fun, quick evening! We would love to have enough staff to be in the main areas of the building (greeters, specials, library, commons, learning parks, etc.) and students to share about our clubs, leadership teams, and be door greeters. If you or your club is participating, please let us know here.

-Team information to share re: next year placement: Thanks to the teams who have already added information. If your team hasn't, please add this to your team meeting agenda to discuss and give input. This folder contains a team document to add information (separations, moving, special considerations, etc).

-We will miss the following staff, but wish them the best as they transition to new positions/districts next year:

  • Dana Patton will be returning to the lower grades as she has taken a 2nd grade position at Horace Mann Elementary.

  • Miranda Bennett will be going to El Dorado Springs where she will be the head girls wrestling coach and teaching PE.

-We welcome the following new staff to our team next year at WIS-S:

  • Kelsie Barber will join the 6th grade maroon team teaching math. She has taught 4th grade the last two years in Republic and student taught at WIS-N 6th grade. She's from the Bolivar area and comes from a family of educators.

  • Ethan Hyde will fill the new EBS teaching position we will have in special services. Ethan has spent this semester as a teacher of record in a cross cat position already gaining valuable experience and graduates with his degree this month. He is a Willard graduate and excited to be coming back to his hometown.

  • Chaz Gregory will be our PE teacher. He and his wife moved to the area from Arizona last summer. He has been the media leader at Inman Intermediate in Nixa this year, but has 7 years experience as a K-8 PE teacher and coach while in Arizona. He's excited to join us and be getting back into the gym to influence young students.
