Morning Announcements: Please add things you would like to have added to our morning announcements on the appropriate day.
Nuts and Bolts Items:
-Please help me in congratulating Christina Cones! She will be transitioning to STEM teacher next year at WIS-South. We’ve got a couple more classroom teacher positions to hire and then we’ll be sharing our new staff introductions.
-Transition Night for Incoming 5th Families: Thursday @ 5:45-6:45 pm. We will have tables set up in the Tiger Den for clubs, student leadership teams and Parent Lighthouse. We’d love to have staff representatives along with our student leaders help. Let us know here if you are able to come!
-Transition Day: Most of our buses will need to drop off ALL students at 8:10 Thursday morning in order to get back to Willard to help with transition day transportation. Please be aware this means students will likely be in your classroom earlier than normal. Also, we will follow a late start schedule in order to allow all students specials.
-5th Grade Beginning Band Details:
Intro Assembly - Tuesday, May 10 @ 9:00 am
All 5th students and 6th band students will attend.
Students/classes will be called down on the intercom.
5th Grade Instrument Testing - Tuesday, May 17 @ Green team learning park (Schedule)
-Student Lighthouse team: Students will meet all week at lead time to prepare for Transition Day.
-Health Insurance Open enrollment: All full time staff will need to complete enrollment for next year. See emails from Shelly Vaughn for more information or questions.
-Book Fair: Mr. Stockton has worked hard to get the book fair up and running. Students will preview the book fair during their Monday library class. Students are not allowed to preview the library before school unless they have money. Please tell students no bookbags, backpacks or hoodies while shopping. Don’t forget to complete your class wish list! If you have any questions, feel free to ask Mr. Stockton. This is a busy couple of weeks for the library and your help is greatly appreciated!
-MAP testing: Thanks to everyone’s help last week to make things a success. We know it takes a lot of extra effort to create optimal testing conditions, deal with schedule changes, and then all the rain! Ugh, indoor recess! It’s our hope students gave their best and the results will show what we know they are capable of. Mrs. Johnson will be working this week to get all make-ups completed.
-Please remember doors should NEVER be propped open. This is a safety concern and why all staff have key-fobs so it is not necessary. Students/staff may also push button at door to call office to open doors. Thanks for your help with this!
-Summer School: There are some exciting additions to this year’s summer school we’d like you to announce to your class. Students will have an opportunity each week to attend either a field trip or have a guest speaker during the 4 week session (2 of each!). They have updated the summer school flyer with these exciting details and we’ll put a couple of copies in your mailbox to send home with interested students.
-Field Trip: Please be sure to get Rhonda Drake a list of chaperones for your field trips. All parents must be signed in through our Raptor system and receive a volunteer sticker in order to attend.
-Teacher Appreciation Week fun - Check out some pictures from last week. If you got any, feel free to add them to the folder! We hope everyone enjoyed the week and felt the appreciation that is felt for you all year long.
-Parent Thank You - Please add a thank you note that will be shared with the many families that helped make Teacher Appreciation week fun for all.
