WIS News:

Morning Announcements: Please add things you would like to have added to our morning announcements on the appropriate day.

Nuts and Bolts Items:

-Please be sure you are being diligent to social distance with others and sanitize often. It’s also important to continue to make sure students are following procedures. We’ve noticed people are getting more lax with things and our building is currently facing the highest number of students and staff out for COVID related reasons we’ve had all year! Stay strong!

-We are still having issues with the Homebound Attendance Log being updated. If you have a student in your homeroom that has homebound support time, your team must be offering them this support and then updating the document daily. Please make sure this is happening and recorded!

-Team meetings: Quick check in re: iTime and reading goal scoreboards, NWEA schedule, and tutoring. (*Meetings shouldn't need to be the whole time.)

Adult Learning Weekly Blog Spot:

Another week of no trash! I hope this is a sign that some of the other things we are doing are working to relieve your stress, and not that you have decided the trash isn't valuable! Releasing your stress; writing it down; throwing it away; this is self-care. It is cathartic, and I hope you can find value in the process!

This week, we will talk about changing perspectives. Personally, I get frustrated when I am told if I just change my attitude, I can change my outlook. Sometimes things are just hard, and it feels okay to be upset about it, but sometimes when we get so stuck in the upset, we forget to look for the growth. Self-reflection and personal responsibility are things we want from our students, so we should model that behavior in ourselves. Watch this (short!) video about changing perspective, then visit with your Accountability Partner and discuss some paradigm shifts you may need to work on. Really think about your reaction to the first poem. Were you nodding along?

Teaching Tip/Tech Resource:

Do you feel like you are spending more of your time managing behaviors right now? Classroom management and building a positive classroom culture takes intentional steps daily. This article, "Are You Managing Behavior or Building Classroom Culture?", has some great points for reflection and suggestions you can try today!
