November 5-8, 2019

Updated: Nov 5, 2019

Anyone's weekend look like this?

Greeter/Goodbye Connectors:

This week (Nov. 6-8) got left off the calendar. In order to not get off and have to print a new schedule, we’ll have the connectors for the 2-day week of Thanksgiving do these 3 days:

Arrival:

Front- Blankenship, Bus- Douglas, Vestibule- Fisher

Dismissal:

Front & Bus: Maroon team (2 bus line- Douglas & Mayes, 2 parent line- Herron & Cones, 1 vestibule with walkers-Anderson)

STEM class location: Innovation Lab (*Bring Chromebook and earbuds to class!*)

Morning Announcements: Please add things you would like to have added to our morning announcements on the appropriate day.

Nuts and Bolts Items:

-Parent/Teacher conferences

  • Please be sure you have updated the conference attendance with your final number of contacts made. Based on our numbers, it looks like we are still missing some.

  • Certified staff - If you haven’t already sent me your log of hours from last week, please email/share this with me.

-Social committee: Reminder to pay your dues. This group helps take care of appreciation days and important moments in staff lives such as new baby, wedding, surgeries, etc. Dues are $20 for certified staff or $10 classified staff. If you are only part time in our building and also work in another, these amounts are split in half. Dues go to Mr. Hayes.

-Staff Spotlight – If you haven’t completed your page for our staff spotlight, please do so soon!

-Exciting news!! Paragon Architecture is in the running for “Dream Team of the Year” with Springfield Contractor’s Association for our building project. This project is currently in the top 3 and the winner will be announced Thursday evening at a special ceremony that a few of our original leadership team members will be attending. We hear this is like the ‘Emmys’ in the building scene for our area and will keep you all posted! We’ll also be featured in an upcoming issue of Springfield Business Journal. 😊

Teacher Tips:

The Role of Emotion Co-Regulation in Discipline – This is a great article that I saw shared several times in the last couple of week. Does our brain operate as a thermostat or thermometer when helping a student with a discipline issue?
