WIS News for the Week:

Nuts and Bolts Items:

-Parent Conference information:

  • Student portfolios - Checklist for binder sections to use. Academics action team has asked that these were all completed by last Friday 17th. They will be doing a check hopefully on Monday and students will receive stickers for having them complete.

  • Thanks to each team for getting your conference schedule turned in.

  • We will not have our early out meeting on Monday. This time is given to allow for conference preparations. Please be sure to take a look around your area and the building spaces you are in to make sure everything is looking good. Parents also love to see student work displayed!

  • As conferences are completed, please fill out this form re: family attendance. Also, each person should log your hours worked here

  • Additional information can be found here.

-Social Committee: Have you paid your dues yet? Today is payday and a great time to get it turned in. These funds go directly towards helping out our school family in times of celebration and/or need. Guidelines used by this group. Certified staff is $20 and classified is $10. Dues can be paid to Autumn or Karen in the office. Thanks for your help with this!

-WCCF grant applications: If you’d like to apply for this round of classroom grants the window is open for the December grants. Applications must be submitted by Nov. 21.

-Mon & Tues- Rocky will be out and we have a sub custodian.

-Media leaders: Please help remind your media leaders they should be going for announcements and WIN time to work on the news on their assigned day(s). A list has been provided by Autumn. They may also go during recess if they choose. Our news show takes time and this allows them to do a weekly show.

-#KickItKenz - Good news update! Mackenzie’s appointment on Friday showed there was no new growth found. Yay!! We will keep you updated on next month’s appointment so we can wear our shirts again in support. It meant a lot to her and her family to see so many wearing them.

-Substitute Changes:

  • We will have a new long term substitute for Mrs. Bowling beginning Tuesday. Help me in welcoming, Jeff Staley, Kelly’s husband, who has agreed to help us out until Mrs. Bowling’s return on Nov. 17. Jeff is a retired educator who has taught 7-12 math and been an athletic director.

  • Jeremy is no longer our building permanent substitute. Penmac is currently looking for a full-time replacement for our building.

A Big Shout-out to:

Check out a slideshow of both events here!

-Extra big shout-out to our specials teachers for a successful Sharpen the Saw day! Our students really enjoyed all the fun and our teachers greatly appreciated this time to complete end of quarter grades. Thank you all - so grateful for our amazing specials team always and the work put into making this day so valuable is appreciated!!

-WIS-South was recognized at this month's School Board Spotlight on Thursday evening. Thanks to Maria Anderson, Heather Hurt and Jennifer Walker for their work in creating and helping present our presentation! It was great to share some of the highlights and celebrations at WIS and the students had a great time too!
