Morning Announcements: Please add things you would like to have added to our morning announcements on the appropriate day.

WIS shared picture folder: Please add your school pictures throughout the year. We’d love to have lots to choose from for the yearbook!

Nuts and Bolts Items:

-Movie Night: We hope you and your family can come THIS Thursday for our movie night. If you will be attending we could use some help with greeting at the door or handing out snacks. Let us know here if you plan to attend and would be willing, even a short time is greatly appreciated!

-Feb. Fun: Pizza Day on Feb. 10-Sign up by Wed. if you’d like to participate in our Pizza Day on Friday. Then, give $3 to Amanda or Rhonda in the office. We’ll take care of the rest.

-Celebration Walk: Our 2nd semester Celebration Walk with district staff is next Monday at 10:00 am. They will be here to celebrate our progress on building goals and see learning in action by visiting classrooms for a portion of their time. What are you proud of them to see in your room? Share here. Then, please take some time this week to check your area (decorations, boards, posters, goal boards, etc.) to ensure things are picked up, up-to-date and looking great for our guests.

-Valentines Parties (6th: 8:50-9:35 am; 5th-9:45-10:30 am): (*No student leadership teams.)

  • Party details - Our parties will be next Tues. morning and we’ll follow a late start schedule so that students do not miss their specials.

  • “House of Leaders” Valentine box contest - Please share with your students about our “House of Leaders” themed box contest during the parties. Students will vote during our parties and we’ll have a trophy prize for the top boxes.

  • Class Valentines - Your team can decide, with student input, if you’d like to trade Valentines also that day. If so, please communicate this to families soon so they have time to prepare.

-House of Leaders:

  • Class Rewards: We’re working on getting all of the class rewards fulfilled. If your class earned popsicles, we have them in the freezer. Just let the office know when you’d like to do them and we’ll get them to you! Hot cocoa and snow cones should be this week too. Katie or I will connect with you to schedule. You may schedule the other rewards (ie. extra recess, 20 min. rest time, etc.) when it works best for your class schedule.

-Upcoming Calendar Items:

  • Spring Fundraiser Kick-off Assembly: Wed., Feb. 22 at 8:40 am. We’ll have a quick assembly to share about our fundraiser. This fundraiser will help us offset the costs of our end of year events (field trips, field day, teacher appreciation, etc.)

  • 5th Field Trip to Wonders of Wildlife: Thursday, March 9

  • NWEA spring testing: Our window is Mar. 6-24. This is the week before & after spring break. Your team will want to begin talking about when you'd like to do each content testing.

-Primary School Picture: Stacey would like to have a picture of you as a student, preferably in primary school if possible. This may be a copy and/or we will get the original back to you! Please turn in to Stacey or the main office. We don’t need this for a bit, but wanted to get the word out so you could start looking for one!

Teaching Tips and Tidbits:

Is your class working on minimizing disruptions? Our instructional minutes are precious time and there's an urgency to make the most of every minute.
