Mon. Library/Counseling Week: A week

Morning Announcements: Please add things you would like to have added to our morning announcements on the appropriate day.

WIS shared picture folder: Please add your school pictures throughout the year. We’d love to have lots to choose from for the yearbook!

Nuts and Bolts Items:

-Emergency Drills: Thanks to everyone for your efforts during our drills last week. We had some great conversations and hope all feel more prepared in the event of an emergency. If you have any feedback/questions you haven't shared with us, please feel free to add it here.

-Belonging Individual WIGs: We're at the halfway point on our scoreboard. How is it going on your lead measures? We'll plan on bringing them to our meeting today to check in and encourage each other.

-Parent Positive Contacts: Wow, we had several teachers dedicate some time last week to connect with our families! I really enjoyed hearing about these conversations and the connections you were able to make as it seemed to fill your bucket too! It looks like we have our first round of Sonic drinks in the very near future! :) It's only Sept. 18, can we get a second round?!?I

-NWEA: Please let Mrs. Muller know if you have anyone else left to test as the window is closing.

-It’s Homecoming Spirit week! Everyone is encouraged to dress up and may wear jeans if it goes with our theme day. :)

-Homecoming Day details are included on this document. Please be sure you have read it carefully to be prepared. There is a lot of information! Bus information is supposed to be shared with the building tomorrow, so I will update specific bus assignments once we have this information. Don’t hesitate to ask if you have any questions! Our first early out is always a little crazy, even without a trip to a Homecoming parade! ;)

-Float Construction - We will have a group working to complete our float Thursday after school and welcome any and all help that can attend!

-HRA & Flu Shot - Don't forget to sign up for the HRA in October. All staff who have school medical insurance must have this or a form completed by their doctor on file to take advantage of the board paid portion. HRA is not on campus this year and the closest locations are WOHE and Willard South. The flu shot will be available on Oct. 31 here from 12-2:30 pm. This is a district PD day.

-Clubs: If you sponsor a club, you have the option of students getting the Tiger Tales snack IF you do the following: (1) Let Paula Parker in the kitchen know a count ahead of time, along with the day you need it. (2) Snack is eaten in the commons.

-Substitute Shortage & Compensation Form: Thanks to everyone who helped fill in last week when we were short-handed. We appreciate our team so much! If you filled in somewhere a sub was not filled, please be aware you may now complete this compensation form to be paid for your time.

Teacher Tips and Tricks:

Great reminder from an educator worth following, Trevor Muir!

We spend our days with 5th and 6th graders and with this age often comes times that we must rely on our strategies and experience when helping a student self-regulate. Many of these times, are when they've responded in a way that can hit our triggers. This article from We Are Teachers has some great tips to remember, "De-Escalation Strategies for When Students Push Your Buttons".

Then, check out this awesome 3 minute video for a little pep talk from kids to SLAY YOUR WEEK!
